R.E. Dempster, Captain

R. E Dempster was born in Toronto, the oldest of 5 children. He graduated with Grade 10 education and joined the Army in World War 2. He trained at Base Borden near Barrie, Ontario. Once in England he was selected for officer training at Sandhurst. He became an instructor for tank operations, rising to the rank of Captain.

Demobilized in 1946, he returned to Canada and married Florence Wakeham. They had three children: Carolyn, Ronald, and Susan. He worked for the TTC as a mechanic and welder until he retired. 

We thank him for his service.
